This test-tool provides total access at the Megaco layer. Under a controlled environment, a user runs scenarios against a System Under Test (SUT) for Conformance, Feature, and Robustness Testing, according to the published IETF/ITU protocol and ETSI test specifications.

The packages include all ETSI defined scenarios designed to completely test any SUT for correct use of the Megaco protocol. The tests are fully editable and can be modified as desired to meet particular test plan requirements.

To easily create new tests, the Replicator tool may be used to make repeatable test scenarios from specific captured call flows. The Replicator tool records signaling call flows to create test scenario source code for playback within Valid8's Simulation tools.

The Traffic Generation package creates signaling and RTP traffic to verify correct operation in the SUT under various traffic load conditions.

With this test-tool, a user can create an environment of thousands of Megaco devices making calls to test an SUT. The test-tool acts as Megaco devices and may act as both client and server end-points for testing equipment such as gateways, switches, PBXs, routers or firewalls.

This test-tool acts as a reference device for a particular end-point or set of end-points such as a Media Gateway (MG) or Media Gateway Controller.

Standard H.248 call-flows (specified by ITU-T and ETSI, for example) are used by the test-tool to respond to an SUT. This provides a user a way to verify correct operation of an SUT under normal conditions.

The state-machines, architecture, and standard call-flows are currently not editable but various parameters used in the call flows are configurable allowing flexibility to work with various SUTs.
