WOBURN, MA, Jan 24, 2007 - Valid8.com (www.valid8.com) today announced that it participated in the inaugural IMS Forum (www.imsforum.org ) Plugfest, the first in a series of testing events designed to establish a certification process for IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) services and applications and help raise awareness of the power and potential of IMS.
Over $3 million in core IMS equipment, and wireless handsets and user equipment simulators, was used throughout the entire week of testing.

Hosted by the IMS Forum and held at University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab, the event provided an opportunity for participants to test the interoperability of a wide range of devices.

Valid8.com found the forum an invaluable experience. “We met our goals to run Valid8’s cutting-edge SIP IMS compliance test suite, including negative tests against a variety of vendors’ devices,” said President and CEO Ian Carpenter. “We also successfully tested several multi-vendor IMS core topologies.”

IMS Plugfest outcomes include the creation of multi-vendor IMS test bed for IMS voice services, development of methodology to accelerate IMS interoperability and identification of additional development for multi-vendor 3GPP IMS R6 networks. Additional achievements include:

• Tested end-to-end IMS multi-vendor interoperability
• Concluded multi-domain VoIP calls with multiple Proxy-CSCFs
• Integrated a SIP Application Server with multiple IMS cores
• Verified SIP and Diameter interoperability
• Established calls between the IMS UEs and the PSTN, via BGCF and MGW functions
• Exercised IMS interoperability with PSTN SS7 Gateway
• Fixed-Mobile Convergence (Wi-Fi VoIP and GSM)

The IMS Forum will announce details surrounding its next Plugfest, to take place in Q2 2007, in the coming weeks.
